May 22, 1928 ~ May 4, 2017

Elvis James (Pete) Argo, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday May 4, 2017, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas at the age of 88 years 11 months and 12 days. He was born in Caddo, Oklahoma on May 22, 1928 to Jessie James and Vera (Russell) Argo. Pete married Betty Turner in Durant, Oklahoma on Christmas Day December 25, 1952.

Pete was a member of the Caddo 1st Baptist Church in Caddo, Oklahoma. He was a farmer/rancher, and worked at Argo's 66 Service Station 1963-1995 for 34 years. Pete enjoyed playing dominoes, 42, cards, and Canasta.

The family respectfully suggest that memorials be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association, 5068 Sawmill Road, Caddo, Oklahoma 74729.

Mr. Argo is survived by his daughters, Sheryie Carrick and husband Robert of Durant, Oklahoma and Roxanne Adams and husband Larry of Durant, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Norma Argo of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Christopher Adams of Durant, Oklahoma, Robyn Sanchez and husband Craig of Altus, Oklahoma, Jamie Berry and husband Brandon of Norman, Oklahoma and Drew Adams of Holdenville, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, James and Michelle Sanchez of Altus, Oklahoma and Phillip Berry of Norman, Oklahoma.

Mr. Argo was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Argo; parents, Jesse and Vera Argo; and brother, Elzie Argo.

Family Hour will be from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Sunday, May 7th at Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 8th at the Caddo First Baptist Church in Caddo Oklahoma with Bro. Jeff Self officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Berry, Christopher Adams, Craig Sanchez, Drew Adams, Richard McIntire, and Tony Taylor.
