Hazel Marie Wigley

Hazel Marie Wigley, a dedicated servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, left this earth on February 12, 2020 at the age of 98. She was born in Cade, Oklahoma to Clarence Newman (Tack) Yandell and Gussie Gertrude McCuen Yandell on February 27, 1921. Hazel married James Henry Wigley in Durant, Oklahoma on March 20, 1942. Family hour will be from 7-8:00 PM on Friday February 14, 2020 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A chapel service will be at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel at 2:00 PM Saturday February 15, 2020 with Rev. Christopher Wigley officiating. Her final resting place will be the Old Church Cemetery in Bennington, Oklahoma with Tom James, Larry Knight, Travis Hull, Gary McIntire, Louis Frank, and Mike Folsom as her pallbearers; her honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Henson.

Hazel was a member of the Bokchito Community Pentecostal Church. She gladly dedicated her life to her home and family. Hazel enjoyed gardening and the abundance of produce it made to feed her family and share with others.

Mrs. Wigley is survived by her children, Martha Sue Reeves of Bethany, Oklahoma, Charles H. Wigley and wife Louise of Ada, Oklahoma and John L. and wife Barbara Wigley of Sherman, Texas, 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Wigley was preceded in death by her parents, Tack and Gussie Yandell, husband, James Henry Wigley, sons, James H. Wigley, Jr., and Daniel Clay Wigley, grandsons, Terry Lee Morris and Danny “Bo” Bobo, and 3 step daughters, Floy Ben Latham, JoAnn Hill and Donna Gayle Wright.

Mrs. Wigley’s family would like to express their heart felt gratitude to the staff of the Calera Manor Nursing Home and Guardian Hospice for their loving care.
