Martha Jane Looney, a resident of Bennington, left this life in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday August 4th, 2018 at the age of 59. She was born in Paris, Texas on July 1, 1959 to George Frank Roberts, and Janice Usry Roberts.
Martha had a soft spot for children and enjoyed caring for them. She worked in a sewing factory for 10 years. Martha loved to watch wrestling, Sanford and Sons, and Elvis movies. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mrs. Looney is survived by her daughters, April Harrison of Bennington, Oklahoma and Megan Looney of Bennington, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; sister, Idanel Wright of Bennington, Oklahoma; brothers, Don Roberts and wife Cathy of Silo, Oklahoma, Larry Roberts of Colbert, Oklahoma, Edward Roberts and wife Vicky of Hugo, Oklahoma, and David Roberts and wife Lori of Denison, Texas; mother, Janice Roberts of Bennington, Oklahoma; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Mrs. Looney was preceded in death by her father, Frank Roberts; and beloved daughter, Mindy Kay Roberts; uncles, Charles Usry, Homer Lee Usry, Gerald Roberts, Jese Roberts; aunts, Ruth Usry, Martha Lou Roberts, and Romola Walker; also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Tim Wright.
Family hour will be from 7-8:00 PM Tuesday August 7th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday August 8th at the First Baptist Church in Bennington, Oklahoma with Roy Barcheers and Ronny Ford officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Church Cemetery in Bennington with James Looney, Kenneth Looney, Christopher Robertson, Zac London, Austin Wright, James Wright, and Josh Taylor as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Schults, Aaron Schults, Zac London.
