Vera A. Kelso, 93 A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bennington Baptist Church for Vera A. Kelso, 93, Durant, who died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Rev. Anthony Williams will officiate. 

She was born Nov. 28, 1911, in Bennington to Jessie Albert and Cora (Shoemake) Cook. She married William L. "Monk" Kelso Dec. 20, 1929, in Bokchito. She was a cook for Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a member of Fairview Baptist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved quilting, crocheting and reading her Bible daily. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by a dear precious daughter-in-law, Marie Kelso. 

She is survived by sons Sandy "N.E." Kelso and wife Glenda, Caddo, Truman Kelso, Durant, Waylond Kelso and wife Sue, Duncanville, Texas, Daryel Kelso and wife Donna, Krum, Texas, Ronnie Kelso and wife Katy, Soper, Albert Kelso and wife Carol, Durant; daughters Neoma Hamill, Durant, Corene Smith and husband Don, Emory, Texas, Velvree Ogla and husband Jerry, Durant; brothers Warren "Son" Cook and Clyde "Mug" Cook, both of Bennington; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. 

Burial will be at Old Church in Bennington with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers. 

Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. 

Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
