Shirley Sue "Granny" Glover was born Monday, June 22, 1936 in Matoy, Oklahoma to Henderson Melton Turner and Ollie (Crawford) Turner. She passed from this life on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in her home at the age of 84.

Shirley Sue married Ernest Stanford "Buddy" Glover on July 28, 1952 in Durant, OK."Granny", known by many, worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Oak Ridge Manor and Calera Manor for fifteen years at each facility. She had a passion for taking care of residents at nursing facilities. After her retirement, "Granny" began working for Miller’s Short Stop which spanned over twenty years. She also was a cattle rancher and checked on her cows often. All her cows had a name, but her favorite was Josephine.

"Granny" was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bokchito for many years. She enjoyed quilting and watching her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, "Buddy" Glover, on September 22, 2000; sisters, Lillie Manners and Rosie Draper; and brother, Buster Turner.

“Granny” is survived by her daughter, Jane Miller and her husband, Brady L. of Durant; son, Hervy Glover of Durant; sisters, Polly Cooper of Oklahoma City, OK, Betty Earley of Madill, OK, and Victoria Manners of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Jerry Don Miller and his wife, Stephanie, Humphrey Joe Miller and his wife, Amber, Hervy Lee Glover, and Eric Stanford Glover; two great-grandchildren, Shelby Miller and Hayden Miller; and several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

Funeral services to celebrate "Granny’s" life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 17, in Brown’s Funeral Service chapel in Durant with Rev. Jerry Don Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Old Church Cemetery north of Bennington, OK, with Jerry Don Miller, Humphrey Joe Miller, Hervy Lee Glover, Eric Stanford Glover, Noah Burch and Hayden Miller serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, April 16, from 6-8 PM at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant.
