Nora Faye Cook a resident of Bennington, Oklahoma passed from this life in Denison, Texas on Monday, October 1, 2012. She was born in Boswell, Oklahoma to Robert Lee and Watie (Love) Pitts on Wednesday, October 27, 1926. Nora Pitts married her sweetheart Wiley Cook on Monday, November 22, 1943 in Bennington, Oklahoma and they were married for 63 years. Nora and Wiley lived in Bryan County for the duration of their marriage.
Nora Faye was a homemaker who loved to sew, crochet, read and work crossword puzzles. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bennington.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her daughter, Linda Hicks and husband Allen of Kenefic, Oklahoma; grandsons, Brian Smith of Bennington, Oklahoma and Allen David Hicks and wife Christi of Kenefic, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Jessie Smith, Aaron, Hannah and Clay Hicks.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Watie Pitts; husband, Wiley Cook; brothers, Obray, Leonard, Milton and Carlton Pitts; sisters, Minnie Williams, Velma Pitts and Ruby Nutt.
Family Hour will be 6-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Old Church Cemetery in Bennington with Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Cook’s nephews.
