Services for Reverend R.H. Brese, who died Wednesday December 15, 2010,will be held Saturday December 18, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Rock Creek Community Church in Bokchito. Reverends Lester Ames and Clifford Joines will officiate. R.H. was born to Wilford and Rena (Wilden) Brese on April 2, 1923 in Bennington. He grew up in Bryan county where he attended local schools. On February 14, 1948 he married Norma Green in Sherman, Texas.

At a young age R.H.began his career as a pastor, and served various congregations in Bryan and Choctaw counties for about 50 years. In his free time R.H. enjoyed reading his bible, music, gardening, hunting, fishing, and laughing with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Rena (Wilden) Brese; brothers Sidney, James, Lindsey, Charlie, Earl, and Merle; and sisters Mildred Green, Hazel Griffin, and Corrine Smith.

R.H. is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma (Green) Brese of Bokchito; son David and wife Cindy, of Durant; daughter Rebecca Brese and Hayley Rambo of Grand Prairie, Texas; granddaughter Lacinda Brese of Durant; brother Glen Brese of Bennington; sisters in-law Rosie of Owasso, Johnnie of Broken Bow, Joyce of Poteau, Lillian Crain of Borger, Texas, Catherine Green of Ft. Worth, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Family hour will be held Friday December 17, 2010 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray funeral home from 6-7; internment will be in Old Church cemetery following Saturday’s service. Pallbearers are Orville Thompson, David Owens, Tony Taylor, Elmer Pierce, Johnny Terrell, and Carl Phillips. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Goins, Dr. Mike Lee, Brad Northcutt, and Red Rutherford.
