Alpha Mildred "Pete" Massey Brese

Alpha Mildred "Pete" Brese was born on Thursday, July 27, 1933 in Bennington, Oklahoma to Virdel Massey & Julia Willie Candace (Stillwell) Massey. She passed from this life on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in Hugo, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years and 1 day. Alpha, also known as “Pete”, married Weldon Glen Brese on August 15, 1951 in DeQueen, Arkansas. She attended the First Baptist Church in Bennington.

She loved to shop and spend time with her family. Glen and Pete owned and operated Brese's General Store in Bennington for 23 years.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Brese of the home; sons, John Brese and wife Mary Ann of Harrah, Oklahoma; Kenneth Brese and wife Christina of Yukon, Oklahoma; James Brese and wife Michelle of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter, Carol Smith and husband Cale, Sr. of Bokchito, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Charlotte Giles of Bokchito, Oklahoma; Douglas Brese and wife Rebecca of Bokchito, Oklahoma; Lauren Brese of Honolulu, Hawaii; J.W. Brese and wife Audrie of Edmond, Oklahoma; Lisa Grider and husband Mike of Moore, Oklahoma; David Brese of Fort Worth, Texas; Daniel Brese of Yukon, Oklahoma; Susan Brese of Yukon, Oklahoma; Julie Smith of Bokchito, Oklahoma; Cale Allen Smith, Jr. of Bokchito, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Travis, Russell and Rena Ann Tomson of Bokchito, Oklahoma; Timothy Brese of Bokchito, Oklahoma; Denise Giles of Durant, Oklahoma; Leyna, Madison and Asher Brese of Edmond, Oklahoma; Tyson and Karisa Grider of Moore, Oklahoma; as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virdel and Willie Massey; son, Gerald Brese; brothers, Vernace and Cloyace Massey; sister, Velma Massey.

Family Hour will be from 6-7 P.M. Friday, July 30, 2010 at Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 31, 2010, First Baptist Church in Bennington, Oklahoma. Bro. Heath Murrah will officiate. Interment will follow at Old Bennington Presbyterian Cemetery in Bennington, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Cale Smith Sr., Cale Smith, Jr., Douglas Brese, J.W. Brese, Allen Massey and Buddy Smith.
