Services for the Rev. Loyd Daniel Stout, 77, of Mead, who passed away, Monday April 30, 2007, at his residence, will be held Friday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Mead Baptist Church. Brother Kerry Groce will officiate.

Loyd was born March 5, 1930, in Lavaca to Jeff and Sallie McAbee Stout.

Loyd joined the United States Air Force at the age of 16 and proudly served his country for 20 years until his retirement on March 31, 1966.

He married Betty S. Caldwell August 17, 1952 in Central City.

Loyd attended and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary receiving his doctorate degree in theology. He pastored over 35 years in numerous local Southern Baptist churches.

Loyd and Betty were members of the Mead Baptist Church and he enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, being a joker and especially riding the tractor with his grandkids. Loyd will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Sallie Stout; stepmother, Jewel Stout; brother, Earl; sisters, Kathern and Leona and granddaughters, Audrey Marie Wooten and Damon Martin.

Loyd is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty of the home; daughters, Deborah Janssen and husband Jack of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, Barbara Jordan and husband Ron of Cartwright, Oklahoma, Kristy Wooten and husband Tim of Cleburne, Texas and Mary Lou Stout of Anadarko, Oklahoma; sons, Steve Stout and wife Kristie of Wichita Falls, Texas and Chaplain Jimmy Dale Stout and wife Janna of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren, Arin Hunter and husband Mike, Casey Stout and wife Alaina, Alyssa Sparks and husband Roger, Jessica Piazza and husband Andrew, Malcolm Hendricks, Nicholas Stout, Cloe Stout, Nathan Stout, Paige Stout, Noah Stout and Faith Wooten; great-grandchildren, Twyla Stout, Isaac Piazza and Madison Sparks; sister, Louanna Shalley and husband Rod; brothers, Thomas Stout and wife Belle, Boyd Stout and wife Thelma and Charlie Stout and wife Tammy; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Interment will be held at Mead Cemetery with Air Force military honors. Mike Hunter, Luke Jordan, Casey Stout, Tim Wooten, Roger Sparks and Malcolm Hendricks will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Mead Baptist Church Building Fund.
