Graveside services for Sammy Joe Smith,51 of Mead, Oklahoma will be Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mead Cemetery. Bro. Robert Edward Savage will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers are Aaron Quarles, Brad Wigington, Matt Smith, John O. Hanlon, Joe Canard and Steve Nelson. Family hour will be Monday, June 14, 2010 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
Sammy Joe Smith was born on Saturday, February 14, 1959 at Durant, Oklahoma to John A. "Sammy" and Jeanette Hale Smith.
He passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Sammy Joe was a member of the 7th and Beech Church of Christ in Durant, Oklahoma.
He enjoyed fixing cars, attending concerts, going camping and going to the lake. Sammy also enjoyed hanging out with his friends and with his family.
Sammy Joe is survived by his parents, John A. "Sammy" and Jeanette Smith of Mead, Oklahoma; brother, Hershel Smith and wife Pam of Mead, Oklahoma; sister, Annette Johnson and husband Steve of Mead, Oklahoma and aunt, Joyce Beal of Dallas, Texas. Other survivors include four nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews.
Sammy Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hershel and Winona Smith and Walter and Augusta Teaff.
