Margaret Lamar Simms was born on Wednesday, October 18, 1933 in Durant, Oklahoma to Merle and Adeline Lamar. She passed away on Thursday, Ocotober 8, 2009 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 20 days.
Margaret was a retired manager of the Goodwill Stores in Durant and Denison.
Her family includes her daughter, Carolyn Pate and husband, John David, of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Carla Miller of McKinney, Texas and Kelly Gann of Sherman, Texas; six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sisters, Johnnie Monaco of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Virginia Gibbons of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and brother, Earnest Lamar of Lufkin, Texas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Ms. Simms was prededed in death by her parents, Merle and Adeline Lamar; brothers, Otis, Otha and Robert Lamar and sister, Merlene Henthorn.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma. Rev. Johnny Brown and Rev. Kenneth Gwinn will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be John David Pate, Kelly Gann, Eric Gann and Cesar Cordero.
Internment will follow at the Mead Cemetery in Mead, Oklahoma.
