Jimmie Wayne Rodgers was born on February 25, 1953 in Lubbock, Texas to Melvin and Minnie Mae Capes Rodgers and passed away on July 18, 2013 at his home in Calera at the age of 60.
Jimmie moved to Bryan County as a small child and attended school in Durant.
He was of the Baptist faith and he enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Rodgers and wife Barbara and his mother, Minnie Rodgers and brother, Melvin Ray Rodgers.
Jimmie is survived by his companion, Sheryl Wynn of the home; daughter, April Christie and husband James Jr. of Madill; son, Jimmie Ray Rodgers of Holdenville, Oklahoma; daughter, Christy Lopes of Stigler, Oklahoma; Lora Golay of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Kathy Mae of Denison, Texas; brothers, Jerry Don Rodgers of Denison, Texas, Raymond Dean Rodgers of Lexington, Oklahoma and Jason Lawson of Sulphur, Oklahoma; sister, Tammy Pickle; grandchildren, Kaden Golay, Zoe Rodgers, Cody and Shawta Davis, David and Katessa Crase, Cheyenne Crase and Donnie Crase; great grandchildren, Ryan, Ashton, Jaden, Raylynn, Katelynn, Xavier and numerous other family and friends.
A celebration of Jimmie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2013 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Jessie Pacheco will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mead Cemetery with Cody Davis, David Crase, Donnie Crase, Jeramiah Colbert, Bryan Barton and John Paul Ragle serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is James Eaton.
