Graveside services for Martha L. Pruitt Pierce of Durant, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the Mead Cemetery, Mead, Oklahoma with Chaplin J. D. Batman officiating.
Martha Pierce was born on Tuesday, February 14, 1922 in Mannsville, Oklahoma to Jesse and Ida Duke Pruitt.
She passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 in Mead, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years.
Martha married Thomas Pierce and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary and James Pharr of Big Sandy, Texas, Sue Pierce of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Pat and Ron Meadows of Danville, Virginia, Ruth and Tommy Burnett of Mead, Oklahoma, Tommie Jean and Bill Crone of Simpsonville, Texas, Nelda Roundtree and Ron Finnell of Bonham, Texas, Linda and Herb Hill of Parkhill, Oklahoma, Donna and Barry Carter of Tyler, Texas; her sons, Jerry and Charlotte Pierce of Cobb, Oklahoma and Terry and Rhonda Pierce of Mead, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ida Pruitt; husband, Thomas Pierce on April 12, 1991 and three grandsons.
