Eddie Joe Northcott

Eddie Joe Northcott entered this life on December 17, 1937 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma born to Robert Lee and Margaret Harris Northcott and entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 6, 2010 at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Ed enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17. He proudly served his country for 20 years until his retirement.

Ed married the love of his life, Lynda Mathes on November 27, 1964 and they were blessed with 3 sons.

After retirement from the military, Ed worked several jobs to support his family, including the United States Postal Service where he retired after 10 years of dedicated service.

He was a proud member of the Seminole Masonic Lodge and the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mead.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Ed will be greatly missed by all who knew and dearly loved him.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his sister, Linda Northcott.

Those loved ones left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Robert Northcott of Mead, Chris Northcott and wife Leslie of Mead and Eric Northcott and girlfriend Misty of Durant; grandchildren, Spencer Northcott, Logan Northcott, Rhythm Northcott and Shelby Northcott; brothers, Don Northcott and wife Irma, Bobby Northcott and wife Rashinda, Richard Northcott and wife Sharon and Tommy Northcott and wife Terri; sisters, Sybil Turner, Judy Oates and husband Lee and Janie Owens and husband Willie; sister in law, Phyllis Bryson and husband James and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Services to celebrate Ed’s life will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Charles Loyd will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mead Cemetery with full military honors. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Northcott, Tony Northcott, William Owens, Dave McGehee, David Cordell Ryan Cordell, Richard Mason, Tommy Northcott and Don Northcott.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
