January 19, 1991 - May 16, 2009 - - Services for Richard Murphy-Dighton, 18, of Durant who passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009 in Atoka will be held, Friday, May 22, 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Kerry Groce will officiate.

Richard was born January 19, 1991 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Clarance Richard and Sherry Ann Lane Dighton.

Richard moved to Durant 13 years ago and was a student in Durant Public Schools and was to graduate with his Senior Class in 2009.

He was a member of Mead Baptist Church and he loved his dogs, children and was looking forward to attending college.

Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Richard was preceded in death by his father; grandmother, Mary Dighton and great grandparents.

Richard is survived by his mother, Sherry Murphy; sisters and brothers, Jeanie Lane, Christopher Murphy, Latasha Murphy, Jessica Murphy, Charles Murphy, Gena McGee, Brandon Lane and Chris Dighton; grandfather, Richard Dighton; grandfather and grandmother, James and Betty Knox; extended family, Michelle Thompson and Paul Davidson, Kelly and Lacey Gibson and children, Randen, Shaley, Kaden and Kelly 2nd, and other relatives and a host of dear and loved friends.

Interment will be in Mead Cemetery with Floyd Burland, Joe Nunez, Paul Davidson, Shawn Ulum, Dustin West and Gregg Wibben serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
