Funeral services for Virginia Corinne "Ginny" Morse will be Friday, February 11,2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel. Bro. Raymand Coats and Bro.Steve Watson will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Trammell, Sean Trammell, Wat Eiadkaew, Watson Eiadkaew, Carlos Velazquez and Ray Childers. Honorary pallbearers will be Karl Felton, David Feil, Richard Armstrong, Bob Sliger, Kenny McKinnell and Steve Carter.
Family hour will be Thursday 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home.
Mrs. Morse passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Sherman, Texas.
Ginny was born September 15, 1939 to Jesse Edward and Vela Jane Taylor Armstrong in Mead. She married her soul mate, J. T., on November 28, 1969 and shared 41 wonderful years with him. This union brought many memories and lasting friendships with a diversity of people. They were blessed to be able to "seal their marriage contract" to ensure their union for eternity in the L.D.S. Temple in 1982 proclaiming their "celestial marriage." They along with Traci were able to seal their family unit during this same time.
Ginny worked at the Dairy Queen in Denton, Texas, for 22 years, making lasting friendships, and inevitably adopting several of the "kids" that worked there as her own. She will always be remembered for seeing the good in everybody anytime and everywhere. She fostered the acceptance of everyone regardless of their heritage. She instilled in her "kids" the importance of researching their ancestory by promoting genealogy research. She was a history buff and traveled extensively through the 48 continental United States with JT, Jane, and Bobby seeing several historical and natural monuments.
She was the matriarch and founder of the Taylor-Armstrong Family Reunion organizing and promoting this event for 28 years.
She truly believed in helping family and friends in good times and sad times. She was truly a caregiver as evidenced by being the first to show up to help and being the last to leave when a family member or friend was in need. Even when she became unable to physically give of herself, she arranged for others to be the caregiver.
She loved going to garage sales, crocheting, playing board games, and watching talk shows on cooking and self-motivation.
She spent countless hours talking with friends on the internet after she became physically unable to visit in person.
"Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother." Although she gave birth to one daughter, she was mom to numerous others.
She is survived by: her husband J.T. Morse of the Home, Children:Traci Jaye Morse and Karl Felton, Denton, Texas, Darlene McKinnell and husband Kenneth, Sparks, Nevada, Carlos and Ginger Velazquez, Fate, Texas, Tony and Regina Trammell, Forney, Texas, Wat and Silaporn Eiadkaew, Plano, Texas, David and Amanda Feil, Irving, Texas, Ray and Peniey Childers, Denton, Texas, Alisha Milligan, Harlingen, Texas, Jane Sliger and husband Bobby, Harlingen, Texas; Richard Armstrong and wife Rhonda, Durant, Oklahoma , and Debbie Kelly and husband Bill of Durant, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Melissa Buckner, Austin, Texas, Alanna Trammell, Denton, Texas, Sean Trammell and Alyshia Plessinger, Forney, Texas, Tori Hoops, Denton, Texas, Micha Marsh, Harlingen, Texas, Watson Eiadkaew, Plano, Texas, Heather Trammell, Forney, Texas, Jillian Childers, Denton, Texas, Braxton Marsh, Harlingen, Texas. Wyntre Childers, Denton, Texas, Michael Trammell, Forney, Texas, Charlie Velazquez, Fate, Texas, Caedmon Childers, Denton, Texas, Great-grandson: Ian Jay Trammell, Forney, Texas, Furry Rescue Babies:Peanut (Goober), Toto, and Austin, Brothers: Cecil Armstrong, Wichita Falls, Texas, Dean Armstrong, Durant, Oklahoma, Gene Armstrong and wife LaVonne, Arvada, Colorado, Sister-in-Law: Alda Armstrong, Houston, Texas. As well as numerous other nieces and nephews and friends throughout the United States.
Ginny was proceeded in death by: Parents: Jesse and Vela Armstrong Brothers: Arward, Jack, Ralph, Noah, and J.C. Sisters: Oleta, Hazel and Marybelle Grandson: Brandon Trammell.
Funeral services are under the direction of The Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home.
