MEAD, Okla. - Calvin Eugene "Gene" Lilley, 79, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, in Denison, Texas.
Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Mead Baptist Church with the Rev. Kerry Groce officiating. Burial was in Mead Cemetery by Brown's Funeral Service of Durant.
Mr. Lilley was born March 1, 1922, in Durant. He married Mary Jo Bruce on Jan. 30, 1946, in Durant.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Bruce Lilley of Shawnee, Mark Stephen Lilley of Borger, Texas, Joe David Lilley of St. Louis, Mo., and Monte Glen Lilley of Sunray, Texas; two daughters, Teresa Mounts of Borger and Denise Andrus of Breckenridge, Texas; a brother, Boyd Lilley of Durant; a sister, Vella Adams of Northridge, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mary Jo Bruce Lilley of Mead, OK passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at her home at the age of 85. Mary was born February 19, 1928 in Pueblo, Colorado to Frank P. Bruce and Melrose Mansker Bruce. Her family moved to Bryan County in 1930 where she has lived ever since. She attended school in Mead and Durant. She married Calvin Gene Lilley in Durant in January of 1946. Mary was a member of the Mead Baptist Church and liked going to the Mead Senior Center. She also enjoyed jewelry, garage sales and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Melrose Bruce; husband Gene Lilley, one sister Virginia King, and two brothers Roy Bruce and Gordon Bruce.
Mary is survived by her children A. Bruce and wife Kay of Shawnee, OK, Mark S. Lilley and wife Beverly of Borger, TX, Joe D. Lilley of Mead, Teresa S. Mounts and husband Alan of Borger, TX, Monte G. Lilley of Sunray, TX, and Denise D. Hicks of Mead, OK, one brother James Bruce of Borger, TX, 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Mead Baptist Church with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating. Interment will follow at Mead Cemetery with grandsons, Gary Lilley, Cody Lilley, Craig Mounts, Shawn Andrus, Anthony Lilley, Jason Lilley and Keagan Howell serving as pallbearers. Family hour will be held from 6-8PM on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Browns Funeral Service Durant. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
