Murel lovingly devoted her life to caring for her home, and family. She was a member of the Mead Baptist Church. Murel enjoyed cooking meals for her family, a quiet day fishing, and camping under the stars.
Mrs. Knowles is survived by her children, Dale Knowles and wife Lou of Calera, Oklahoma, Beverly Knowles Serner of Mead, Oklahoma, Elvis Knowles and wife Sandy of Kenefic, Oklahoma, and Pamela Knowles Whitworth and husband Gerald of Glenpool, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren; brother, Roy Goggans of Atoka, Oklahoma; sisters, Darlene Ferguson of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Martha Brown of Durant, Oklahoma, and Elaine Reesor of Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Knowles was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister, one grandson, and one son-in-law.
Family hour will be from 3-4:00 PM on Sunday, September 17th at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday September 18th at the Mead Baptist Church with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating.
Interment will follow at Mead Cemetery in Mead. Serving as pallbearers will be Murel’s grandchildren.
