Vivian Thelma Kenney, 96, of Mead, Oklahoma passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at Four Seasons Nursing Home in Durant,Oklahoma.
Mrs. Kenney was born February 19, 1915 in Royce City, Texas to James and Leora Jane Harper. She married Joe Kenney on March 12, 1938. Vivian was a homemaker, sales clerk for Duke and Ayers, and a member of the Mead Church of Christ for over 60 years. She loved playing the piano, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Kenney is survived by her sons, Phillip Kenney of Mead, Oklahoma and David Kenney of Mead, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Shellie Kenney of Silo, Oklahoma, Jodie Smith of Yukon, Oklahoma and Susan Jasper of Sherman,Texas; sister, Oleta Landin of Dallas, Texas; and one brother, Ernest Harper of Mead, Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Kenney was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Kenney; her twin sister, Lillian Rowland; and her other brothers and sisters.
Family Hour will be Sunday, 3-4 P.M. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, April 11, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Chapel with Bro. John Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Mead Cemetery, Mead, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Wells and Scott Jasper.
