Ed (Jelly) Ingram a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the age of 85 years 8 months and 5 days. He was born in Yarnaby , Oklahoma to James Isaac and Minnie (Quarles) Ingram on Monday, February 18, 1927.
Ed served his country in the United States Army. He retired as Foreman for the Lone Star Cement Company in Dallas, Texas. After his retirement he returned to farming and ranching. Ed attended the Victory Tabernacle Church in Durant. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden. Ed loved to fish, but more than catching them he loved to eat what he caught.
Mr. Ingram is survived by his sons, Jim Ingram of Mead, Oklahoma, Bud Ingram of Mead, Oklahoma and Larry Ingram of Jonesboro, Arkansas; daughter, Freda Shelley of Calera, Oklahoma; brother, Alvin Ingram of Bokchito, Oklahoma. 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ingram was preceded in death by his parents, James and Minnie Ingram; first wife, Mildred Ingram; second wife, Frances Ingram; grandchildren, Tammy and Nathaniel Ingram; brothers, Roy, Troy, Calvin, Elbert, Albert and Bill; sisters, Irene and Maudie.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Danny Maples officiating.
Interment will follow at the Mead Cemetery in Mead, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be grandsons Steve Ingram, Tony Ingram, John Ingram, Shawn Ingram, Shayne Ingram and Alton Webster.
Family hour will be from 2-4 P.M. Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home.
