Ruby Anne Iker

Ruby Anne Iker passed away in Durango, Colorado on December 30, 2024.

She was born in Lowville, New York on August 10, 2005, to Brandon and Anna Iker, and lived in New York, Kansas, Germany, Oklahoma, and Colorado. She traveled throughout Europe with her family when they were stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army. She loved to read, sing, and create. Ruby graduated from Durant High School where she was active in choir and art. She taught Sunday school at St. William Catholic Church and was a member of the choir. Ruby studied computer engineering at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado where she put her eclectic music knowledge to work at the student radio station and used her sewing skills to make costumes for the drama department. She loved nature and greatly enjoyed hiking around the Durango mountain area. She also worked part-time at McDonald's.

Ruby was preceded in death by her cousin Joseph Rawls.

She is survived by parents, Brandon and Anna; sisters, Lilly and Jolie; grandparents, Bob and Mary Rawls and Steve and Joan Iker; great-grandmother, Dolores White Kiser; aunts and uncles, Holly (Lisanne) Iker, Natalie (Jason) Williams, and David Rawls; cousins Maddy Williams, Garrett Williams, Matthew Iker, and Olivia Rawls who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

Her memorial service is scheduled for January 18, 2025, at 10 am at First United Methodist Church in Durant, OK with graveside burial immediately following at Mead Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are: Shawn Ridenour, Brad Jobe, Mike Stout, Robert Foster, and Stanley St. Clair. Officiating is Reverend John Hiller Family night will be January 17 at 6 pm at Brown's Funeral Home, with Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet at 5:30pm.
