Sammie Herrington passed away in Denison, Texas on Monday October 24, 2011 at the age of 73 years 3 month 4 days. She was born on Wednesday, July 20, 1938 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Samuel and Velma Stillwell Abernathy.
Sammie was a talented person and had many interests. She was a licensed cosmetologist and owner/operator of a Home Care.
Sammie had many hobbies: painting, drawing, pottery, and needle point to name a few. She attended the Light House Church in Colbert, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Herrington is survived by her sisters, Judy Ash and husband Arley (Bud) of Mead, Oklahoma and Rena Tibbetts of Mead, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sammie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Velma Abernathy; sister, Mary Stevens of California; brother, Dean Abernathy of Mead,Oklahoma; infant daughter and infant son.
Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Mead Cemetery with Rev. Billy Beall officiating.
