Kathleen Rea Hammond entered this earthly life on October 9, 1928 in Walnut Springs, Texas born to Buerse Windle and Lena May Willis Rea and entered her Heavenly Home on February 22, 2016 in Decatur, Texas at the age of 87.

Kathleen married Darwin H. Hammond on December 6, 1947 in Dallas, TX and they were blessed with 45 years of marriage until Darwin's death in 1992. She received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing and was a Nursing Home Administrator for many years until her retirement. She was member of Silo Baptist Church and Gateway Church of Southlake, TX. Kathleen was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and she dearly loved all her family and dear friends.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin H. Hammond; parents, Buerse and Lena Rea; daughter, Venita J. Henderson and son, Dennis H. Hammond.

Loved ones left behind to cherish her sweet memory are her son, Garry Hammond and wife; daughter, Linda Anderson; 8 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a great great grandson and numerous extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Mead Cemetery Pavilion. Pastor Patricia Blagg will officiate. Pallbearers will be Garry Hammond, Jason Higgins, Scott Hinton, Bryce Hinton, Jerred Cogdill and Paul Hamer. No family hour is scheduled but the Funeral Home will remain open until 8:00 PM to sign register book. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service, Durant.
