Dorotha Green a resident of Calera, Oklahoma left this life on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the age of 89 years 5 months and 15 days. She was born on Saturday, May 23, 1925 in Durant, Oklahoma to Duluth and Ruth (Tignor) Pruitt. Dorotha Pruitt married Sidney Eugene Green in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, August 1, 1942.
Mrs. Green dedicated her life to caring for her home and family. She was a member of the University Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Green loved to garden, canning her harvest and reading. Her family always looked forward to her meals because she was a wonderful cook. Mrs. Green looked forward to the time she spent with her family but she especially enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Green is survived by her daughters, Carolyn "Ruthie" Brown and husband Ronnie of Caney, Oklahoma and Lisa Reed and husband George of Silo, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tim Holder and wife Sybille of Augsburg, Germany, Anthony Holder and wife Tracy of Caney, Oklahoma, Casey Brown of Caney, Oklahoma, Laura Wylie of Durant, Oklahoma and Erin Minyard and husband Michael of Denison, Texas; brother, Jerry Pruitt of Hereford, Texas; sister, Joy McGough of Hobart, Oklahoma; 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents, Duluth and Ruth Pruitt; husband, Sidney Green and 11-siblings.
Family Hour will be from 3-4:00 PM Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Church service in honor of her memory will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 10, 2014 at the University Freewill Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Raymond Coats officiating. Interment will follow at Mead Cemetery. The pallbearers will be grandsons, Anthony Holder, Casey Brown, Jason Holder, Michael Minyard, Wayne Wylie and Jordan Wylie.
