Carolyn Sue Pierce Grass

grass-c-s

February 14, 1948 - April 29, 2025

Carolyn Sue (Pierce) Grass was born in Oklahoma City on February 14, 1948. She was the youngest child of Delorin Clifford and Billie LouDon Pierce.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bill Robbins, Ronald Busbee, Dee Pierce, and sister Marylin Claunch, husband Michael Owen, son Richard Wane Vance, and grandson Douglas Eaton.

She is survived by her daughter Denisa Eaton of Gulfport, Mississippi, four granddaughters: Kimberly Barksdale of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Kandis Eaton of Milburn, Oklahoma, Emeri and Zayleigh of Durant, Oklahoma, and three grandsons: Jay, Jax, and Holden of Durant, Oklahoma. She has six great-grandkids: Andrea, Aubree, and Conner of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Tayler, Tory and Karlee of Milburn, Oklahoma. She was married six times, preceded in death by Edward Sifford, Scott Smith, and Michael Owen, and survived by Larry Biggs, Dennis Vance, and Jeffrey Grass. She also has countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Carolyn has an extensive occupational history. She made harnesses for B-52 bombers during the Vietnam War, was a volunteer firefighter, deputy sheriff, ranch foreman, and a go-go dancer. She was self-employed, owning several businesses, including three restaurants, most notably Dooleys Diner in Mead, Oklahoma, where it didn't matter if you couldn't pay; she would feed you anyway. It was just off Lake Texoma and a gathering place for striper guides and local characters. She was a great neighbor, taking in all strays, both animals and people, and had a kind heart, always rooting for the underdog. Most people here have lived with her at one time or another. She could doctor animals (self-proclaimed vet) and cheer you up with her quirky sense of humor or one of her wild animated tales. If you have one you would like to share, please do so now.
