Martha Louise Ashley Goggans, age 80 of Calera, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 in Denison, Texas. She was born May 8, 1930 in Madill, Oklahoma to Lubie and Edith Marie Tabor Ashley.
Martha worked in the grocery business as a meat cutter and packer.
She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Goggans loved reading her Bible. She had a passion for history, politics and puzzles.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Mead Cemetery in Mead, Oklahoma. Bro Roger Speers will be officiating.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenna Brockett of Sherman, Texas; son, Troy Gentry of Calera, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brittney Williams of Colbert, Oklahoma, Jessica Satterfield of Durant, Oklahoma, Corey Gentry of Dallas, Texas, Casey Carnes of Nemo, Texas; great-grandchildren, Parker Satterfield, Gage Carnes, Brody Carnes; sisters, Sue Durst of Longview, Texas, Melba Grove of Colbert, Oklahoma. Numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lubie and Edith Marie Ashley; first husband, Melvin "Billy" Gentry; second husband, William "Burel" Goggans and sister, Maxine Ash.
