Lottie Jane Frances (Sheffield) Buffalo was born on Friday, June 14th, 1935 near Rock Creek in Old Boston, Texas to Willie and Fannie Irene (Smith) Sheffield. Lottie passed from this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in Denison, Texas at the age of 89.
On July 1st, 1953 she married the love of her life, Delbert Lee Buffalo in Vernon, Texas. They had 4 children: Virgil Lee, Ricky Jo, Patricia Ann, and Allen Eugene.
For the most part, Lottie was a caregiver ranging from her own family and grandkids to her siblings, nieces and nephews. Her home was the gathering place for a lot of the family. Growing up, she pulled cotton and hoed peanuts with her family.
Preceding her in death are her parents Willie and Fannie Irene Sheffield; husband Delbert Lee Buffalo on May 10, 2014; granddaughter Kari Ann Buchanan; daughter-in-law Shirlene Buffalo; brothers William, Billy, and Alvin Sheffield; and a sister Hattie Kessler.
Survivors include her sons Virgil Buffalo, Ricky Buffalo and wife Sharon, and Eugene Buffalo and wife Jodi; daughter Patricia Tucker and husband Danny; grandchildren Jennifer Wagner, Thomas Buffalo, Andrew Tucker, Kylie Billings, Cody Buffalo, Kaylynn Crawford, Amy Brown, Jeff Aguirre, and Christy Wigington; She has 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and 1 on the way; sisters Wanda McAlester and Patsy Luton; brothers Virgil, Travis, Jerry, and Gary Sheffield; and sisters-in-law Cynthia Ann Minyard, Betty Sheffield and Janet Sheffield.
Funeral services to celebrate Lottie's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. Committal services will immediately follow at Mead Cemetery with Cody Buffalo, Ty Wagner, Drew Tucker, Dakota Buffalo, Avrey Brown, Thomas Buffalo and Colton Ledford serving as casketbearers.
The family will receive and greet friends on Friday, Feb. 14, from 6-8 PM at Brown's Funeral Home.
