Rachel Denise Anthony, 62, of Caddo, passed from this life on Monday, March 11, 2024 in Durant. Denise was born July 18, 1961 at Alice, Texas to Frankie Leon Grimes and Shirley Ann (Ashcraft).
Denise grew up in Armstrong and was a graduate of Caddo High School in 1979. She previously worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Medical Center Pharmacy, an aide and phlebotomist at Four Seasons Nursing Home, and lastly as a personal aide for a few patients. Denise enjoyed being outdoors, going fishing, camping, and tending to her garden. She also had a passion for riding her motorcycle and riding horses. She attended River Church for many years.
Denise was preceded in death by her mother; biological father; step-father William Ellis; sister LaFonda Wilkerson; nephew Patrick Wilkerson; bonus brother Bill Ellis; and her grandparents.
She is survived by her sister, Verna Harris and husband, Raymond of Caddo; brother, Richard Grimes of Sherman, Texas; bonus brother, Gaylon Ellis and wife, Pam of Kenefic, Oklahoma; nieces and nephew, Haley Munden and husband, Alex of Caddo, Katie Harris of Durant, Chris Grimes and wife, Stephanie of Pottsboro, and Amber Grimes of Iowa; and a bonus cousin, Susan Waldo of Moore, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, at Mead Cemetery pavilion. Bro. Tommy Green will officiate. Pallbearers will be Raymond Harris, Alex Munden, Derek Wolf, and Gaylon Ellis.
The family will receive and greet guests on Wednesday, March 13, from 6-8 PM at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant.
