Jack Pettett, 79, passed away peacefully at his beloved Stonewall home on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Jack was born on December 26, 1942, at his home in Matoy, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of six children of James Walter and Mae (Marshall) Pettett. He dedicated his life to serving as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist and delivered more than six thousand children over the course of his career, including one of his children and two of his grandchildren. He treasured the gifts God gave him to be an instrument of help and healing to people. He served as Captain and Flight Surgeon in the United States Army. He always loved and supported his family faithfully. He enjoyed taking them on trips where they made some of their best memories. He was a loyal fan to his medical school alma mater, Oklahoma University and regularly attended their sporting events over the years. He was an excellent golfer, master fisherman, and hunter. He passed these skills onto his children and grandchildren. In his latter years, he devotedly cared for his loving wife as they took joy spending time outside on their beautiful property in Stonewall.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Zenobia, of 58 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Ann Wickersham and husband Chris, of Denton, Texas; son Jason Pettett and wife Casey, of Gunter, Texas; daughter Leigha Pettett of Brooklyn, New York. Papa was blessed with six grandchildren: Drew and Mazi (Higgins) Wickersham, Grace (Wickersham) and Ben Stogner, Claire Wickersham, Jaclyn Wickersham, Noah Pettett, and Sydney Pettett.
He was a treasured husband, father, and grandfather. His family will miss hearing him say “Glad you got to see me!
Family hour will be from 3-4:00 PM on Sunday January 10th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A service in honor of his life will be at 11:00 AM Monday January 17th at the Caddo 1st Presbyterian Church in Caddo, Oklahoma. His final earthly resting place will be the Matoy Cemetery in Matoy, Oklahoma with Chris Wickersham, Drew Wickersham, Noah Pettett, Ben Stogner, and Jason Pettett. Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
