Funeral services for Willy Ray Walton of Killeen, Texas were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Denison with full military honors by U.S. Army Honor Guard from Ft. Hood, Texas. Jan Kelly officiated and burial was in Kemp Cemetery in Kemp, Oklahoma under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Mr. Walton was born February 13, 1936 in Kemp to Lem "Bud" and Juanita Garrett Walton and he died Monday, March 19, 2012 in Galveston, Texas.
He graduated from Kemp High School.
He was married to Oleta Fann on May 3, 1958 in Denison; Rita House in 1980 in Hendrix, Oklahoma and then Thu Thi Nguyen.
Mr. Walton retired from the U.S. Army after serving in Vietnam as a Special Forces member. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Denison and Sherman and also a member of the D.A.V.
Mr. Walton was a member of the World Wide Church of God.
Mr. Walton was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Ray Walton and sister, Eyvonne West.
He is survived by his wife Thu of Killeen; sons, Christopher Wayne Walton of Austin, Texas; Philip Lem Walton and wife, Michelle of Harker Heights, Texas; Peter Nguyen and his wife, Thytho of Killeen; and Brent Allen Walton of Bakersfield, California; daughters, Joyce Yavonne and husband, Roger Gendron of Harker Heights, Texas and Jacquiline Antionette Walton and husband, Rusty Kendrick of Canadian, Texas; brother, Billy Merle Walton of Kemp, Oklahoma; sisters, Betty Buchanan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Burma Dailey of Kemp, Oklahoma, Nancy Cleveland of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren, Dustin Walton, Jenna Millner, Christopher Walton Jr., Chanz Gendron, Stephanie Walton, Nicholas Walton, Loan Nguyen; and great-grandson, Riley Flint.
