Ivy Inez Morgan Rice, 96, of Kemp, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 14, 2009, in the presence of her loving family at Stonebrook Assisted Living Center of Denison, Texas.

She was born August 5, 1912 in Yarnaby and was the daughter of Franklin and Toccoa Barnes Morgan.

She attended Yarnaby schools and married William Rice on April 27, 1929, in Durant.

She was a homemaker and a long-time member of the Kemp Baptist Church and had lived in the Kemp area all her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband on October 1, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Wayne and Clifford Morgan and one sister, Jean Morgan.

Surviving are two sons, Dale Rice and wife Beverly of Denison, Texas, and James Rice and wife Anna of Kemp; five brothers, Billy Frank Morgan of Texas, Bobby Ray Morgan of Amarillo, Texas, Richard Earl Morgan and Charley Morgan, both of Tennessee, and Jack Peters of Stamford, Texas; four sisters, Betty Ruth Fowler, Jennie Ann Draper and Sylvia Casey, all of Tennessee, and Joetta Faye Kelsey of Amarillo, Texas; eleven grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends, including very close family friends Esther Dixon and Joe and LaDella Hedger.

Funeral services for Ivy Inez Rice will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Kemp Baptist Church. Pastor Roger Speers will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Kemp Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to Heart to Heart Hospice in Lewisville, Texas, Kemp Baptist Church or the Kemp Cemetery fund.

Family night be from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. today at the Kemp Baptist Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
