Linda Large Rhoades, 61, of Kemp, passed away Tuesday morning, August 11, 2009, at her residence in the presence of her loving family.

She was born July 22, 1948, in Yarnaby, and was the daughter of Rainer and Tiny Howery Large.

She attended Yuba schools and married Jimmy Rhoades on December 17, 1970, in Durant.

She was a retired cook and had worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken and Wright's Drive In, both in Durant, and owned Linda's Country Kitchen in Colbert for several years and worked at the Colbert Coffee Shop before becoming ill.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, parents and brothers, Bobby and Doyle Large.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Womack and husband Marvin and Marline Womack and husband Melvin, and son, Jimmy Rhoades and wife Andrea, all of Kemp; daughter ,Claudine Rodgers and husband Jamie of Achille; brother, Rainer Large and wife Scherina, and sister, Lois Nelly and husband Dwayne, all of Durant; twenty four grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members, foster children and grandchildren.

Funeral services for Linda Rhoades will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Kemp Baptist Church, with Mr. J. D. Culbreath officiating.

Burial will follow in the Kemp Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Harley Dillard, Marvin Womack, Jr., Rodney Neely, Charles Neely, Johnathan Barkley and Dwayne Nelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Gillen, Kody Adams, Melvin Womack and Marvin Womack.

Family night will be today from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Carl Cunningham and Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
