Mr. Carol Gene Orr, 78, of Kemp, Oklahoma passed away Monday afternoon November 1, 2010, at his home.

He was born August 29, 1932, in Pilot Point, Texas and moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma as a child and attended Ardmore schools then entered the United States Navy during the Korean War at the age of 17.

He married Loretta Ennis October 9, 1954, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He worked as an engineer in heavy construction in California most of his life and was a union member.

He moved to Kemp, Oklahoma in 1986 and was a school bus driver in Denison, Texas before retirement.

He was preceded in death by his father and his mother, Alameda and a son, Lonnie Orr.

Surviving is wife, Loretta Orr of the home in Kemp; three daughters, Linda Zapata and husband Dan of Waldorf, Maryland, Rhonda Swepston and husband Fred of Las Vegas, Shelly Ervin and husband Kirk of Kemp; son, Curt Orr of Lancaster, California and grandchildren Daniel, Adam and Christina Zapata and Luke, Keli and Kimberly Orr and their mother Vernie, Tiffany and Brian Swepston; Klinton, Keith and Katelynn Ervin, eight greatgrandchildren and three on the way.

Funeral services for Carol Gene Orr will be 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon November 8, 2010, in Cunningham FuneralChapel in Colbert, Oklahoma with Mr. Jan Kelly officiating.

Burial will follow in Kemp Cemetery. Family hours will be from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Cunningham Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be sent to Loretta Orr of 1562 Peanut Trail Hendrix, Oklahoma 74741.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma.
