Clinton Doyle Little

Clinton Doyle Little was born to Clarence & Bernice Southord Little on Monday, November 19th, 1934. A long time citizen of the Liberty bottom and Kemp areas of Oklahoma, Clinton graduated from Kemp high school.

Proudly, Clinton volunteered in the US army to serve his country during the Korean War. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the US Army in October of 1956, Clinton headed back to Oklahoma to work in both the oil fields and cattle ranching. Clinton participated in the rodeo circuit for a while competing in events such as, bull riding, busting broncos, strait line roping, bulldogging and team roping. Clinton was an excellent calf roper and could have went on to become a professional, but continued this skill throughout his life. Clinton later went to horseshoeing school to become a Farrier and continued his love for horses as a race horse trainer. Clinton lived out the rest of his life on his ranch, striking up a conversation with lifelong friends about the old days or what was new on his beloved soap operas or Judge Judy. Subject did not matter, he always had a story to tell or something to talk about.

Both of Clinton’s sons, Clinton Don and Michael Todd Little were born from Charlotte Cranford. He was proceeded in death by his sister Hellen Fay Little Allen, his son Clinton Don and granddaughter Kaylie Bernice Little. Clinton survived by his son, Michael Todd, and grandson Clinton Derek Little.

Clinton was a well know person in the Liberty bottom and Kemp area. Loved by all who knew him, Clinton lived a full and happy life on his farm with support from his community, cousins and family until his death on October 10th, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. With special thanks to his cousin Mike Stevenson and family, whom took Clinton in after his heart surgery to recuperate, but ended up living out the last three years of his life at their residence. Clinton loved his family very much and will be in their hearts forever with much love and pride.

Funeral Services for Clinton will be held Saturday October 21st, 2017 at the Kemp Baptist Church in Kemp, Oklahoma with Pastor Roger Speers & Mr. Jan Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Kemp Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Little, Rodger Little, Ricky Little, Jerry Little, Don Allen, Randy Anderson, Darrell Allen, Sam Stevenson and Nick Wallace. Family Night will be from 6-8p.m. Friday the 20th at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family online @ cunninghamfuneralhomesok.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham in Colbert, Oklahoma.
