Bobby Gene Corbett passed from this world Saturday,September 30, 2017 to go home to his Lord and Savior. He was a husband, father, grandfather, horseman, and businessman. He was born Monday, September 24, 1945 to Emmett Earl and Catherine (Miller) Corbett in Achille, Oklahoma.
For Bob’s whole life he was a true horseman, riding, and training horses were not a job to him, but a calling, he loved what he did. His favorite saying, “God looks out for cowboys, and fools, and he wasn’t sure which category he fit in.” For the past 20 years he was the voice in the middle of the night at Clovis Answering Service. Staff, and clients, loved and will miss him dearly.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of the home Carolyn (Morrison) Corbett of Clovis, New Mexico; sons, Joe Donald Corbett and wife J’Lenn of Garvin, Oklahoma, and Jeremy Austin Corbett and wife Mindy of Hattisburg, Mississippi; grandson, Cody Robert Corbett of Garvin, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Brooklyn Marie, and Ava Grace Corbett; grandson, Jackson Burr of Hattisburg, Mississippi; brother, Jonny “Babe: Corbett and wife Bonnie of Denison, Texas; and step-daughter, Jo Ann Navares and husband David of Clovis, New Mexico.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Corbett, and Catherine Corbett; and infant daughter Lacy Lurline.
Family Hour will be 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday October 3rd at the Holmes~ Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Church Service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday October 4th at the Kemp Baptist Church in Kemp Oklahoma with Bro. Roger Speers officiating.
Interment will follow at Kemp Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Corbett, Burney Sinor, Cody Corbett, James Ray Beaucham, Mike Weger, and Shane Corbett, and the honorary pallbearers are Buck Sinor, and Marty Sinor.
