Carolyn Paulette Blankenship, a cherished family member and lifelong resident of Hendrix, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Monday March 13, 2017 at the age of 69 years and 5 months. She was born in Hendrix, Oklahoma on October 13, 1947 to Clyde and Myrtle (Sinor) Riley. Carolyn Riley married Leslie Dewayne “Moe” Blankenship in Carpenters Bluff, Texas on December 15, 1966.

Carolyn was a member of the Hendrix Baptist Church. She was employed by Johnson & Johnson for 32 years, Texoma Medical Center in Denison for 4 years, and the Big Five Community Services, Inc. for 11 years. Carolyn was deeply committed to serving her hometown, and neighbors. She served as the clerk and treasurer for the Town of Hendrix, Board of Directors for the United Way, Board of Directors for Hendrix, and the Hendrix/Kemp Water District.

Mrs. Blankenship is survived by her brother, J.C. Riley and wife Carol of Bracketville, Texas; brother-in-law, Jerry Blakenship and wife Sandy of Frisco, Texas; sisters-in-law, Patsy Schindler and husband James of Denison, Texas, and Treva Taylor and husband Tommy of Dallas, Texas; special brother-in-law, L.C. Wesberry of Hendrix, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Myrtle Riley; beloved husband Leslie Dewayne “Moe” Blankenship (March 25, 2013); and sisters, Lucretia Wesberry and Wanda Hobbs.

Family hour will be from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Thursday March 16th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A chapel service will be at 10:00 AM Friday March 17th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Jason Patton officiating.

Burial will follow at the Kemp Cemetery in Kemp, Oklahoma. The pallbearers will be Stacy Peebles, Blake Logan, Marty Sinor, Chris Wesberry, Randy Stone, and Michael Schindler.
