Darrell Lynn Thomas was born on November 30, 1949 in Bennington, OK to Jesse William and Eva Georgia (Gaither) Thomas. Darrell left this earthly life on February 15, 2021 in Lexington, OK at the age of 71.
Darrell met Delores Ann Heflin and they were later married on June 21, 1967 in Sherman, TX. They had three beautiful daughters and were blessed with four granddaughters, two grandsons and three great grandchildren. Darrell loved having visits with his family. He loved making things with his hands and sending them to loved ones. He loved animals and sitting and watching the deer that lived across from him at Stringtown. He enjoyed taking walks and watching the cars go by and wondering where they were going “Maybe just dreaming”. He enjoyed eating chocolate ice cream, good ole fried chicken and hamburgers.
Darrell also attended classes and worked hard on getting his GED, which he did. He set his goals and made them a reality. Darrell was of the Baptist faith he loved the Lord and was baptized and saved and later achieved Credentials of Ministry and was ordained on May 24, 2001 by the Universal Life Church. He loved going to church, praising the Lord and singing hymns.
Darrell is survived by his daughters Regina Ann Hampton, Loretta Buckley and Tina Kay Wasson; brothers Leslie Ray and Donnie Gene Thomas; sister Mattie Mae Pebworth; 4 granddaughters; 2 grandsons and 3 great grandchildren.
Darrell was preceded in death by his wife Delores Ann Heflin; parents Jesse and Eva Thomas; sister Teenie LaVern Calhoun and brothers Cecil Leroy, Billy Earl, Johnny Paul, Charles Edward and Jessie Lee Thomas.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday February 24, 2021 at Jackson Cemetery. Pastor Clark Harp will officiate. Pallbearers will be family, friends and those who loved him. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
