George Reynolds

George Reynolds formerly of Bennington passed peacefully on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the age of 88. He was born on March 28, 1935 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to Fred Eldon and Fannie (Hauk) Reynolds. On December 21, 1955, George married the love of his life, Ruthie Lee Titsworth in Sherman, Texas.

George retired from the United States Navy. He honorably served his country two times during the Vietnam War as a gunner mate. George was a merchant sea mariner for 25 years. In his retirement he enjoyed his yardwork. He also enjoyed going to the casino.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ruthie Reynolds, and his two daughters Shirley Patak and husband Melvin of Ennis, Texas and Teresa Shoemake of Sanger, Texas. His legacy lives on with his four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Those preceding him in death are his parents Fred and Fannie Reynolds, his two sons William Fred Reynolds and Tommy Lee Allen, his four brothers James Reynolds, W.C. Reynolds, Ray Reynolds, and Dr. Grover Reynolds, and a sister Marietta Allen.

Family Hour is scheduled from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. His funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel. George will be laid to rest at the Jackson Cemetery pavilion in Bennington.
