Hulen Iven Raney

Hulen Iven Raney, a longtime resident of Bennington, Oklahoma passed from this life at his home on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the age of 90. He was born on August 28, 1925 in Jackson, Oklahoma to John Ervin and Molly (Neal) Raney. Hulen married the love of his life Mattie Marie Minyard in Sherman, Texas on August 1, 1947 they shared their life until she preceded him in death on December 8, 2001.

Hulen had a strong work ethic that sustained him throughout his lifetime. He was a cattleman who worked his land by farming, planting peanuts and corn and bailing hay. Hulen enjoyed the quiet solitude of fishing, an occasional coon hunt and watching Texas Rangers Baseball.

Mr. Raney is survived by his; sons, Johnny Raney of Idabel, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Karen; son, Rick Raney and wife Linda of Bennington, Oklahoma; grandchildren, J.L. Raney and wife Natalie of Vinton, Louisiana, Brad Raney of Idabel, Oklahoma, Misty Underwood and husband Bryon of Bennington, Oklahoma and Clanton Raney of Bennington, Oklahoma; great-grandsons, Trey, Jake and Clay Raney, Brasen, Rasee and Collin Raney; great-granddaughters, Malori and Emili Underwood of Bennington, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Thunder and Allee Raney of Durant, Oklahoma; special friend, Sally Baker of Boswell, Oklahoma; sister, Marie Litterell of Borger, Texas; special family friend, Speck Hill of Idabel, Oklahoma; and many friends, farmers, ranchers and numerous other relatives.
