Sarah Jane (Beasley) Perry was born Tuesday, February 6, 1945 at West Plains, Missouri to Elmer Beasley and Maureen (Reed) Beasley. Sarah went into the presence of our Lord and Savior on Friday, February 2, 2024 from her Bennington home at the age of 78 years 11 months and 27 days.
Sarah was raised by her aunt, Naoma Greenwood, in Boswell where she attended school. She married David Perry on January 12, 1967 in Durant. Sarah worked as a homemaker most of her life raising their 4 children. She had a love for animals as she enjoyed raising over 150 momma dogs for 22 years. Sarah loved being outdoors helping David take care of the cows and chickens as well. She raised and tended many vegetable gardens and did a lot of canning for their home. Sarah was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Bennington where she played the piano for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, John Marrs.
Sarah leaves behind her loving husband David Perry Sr. of the home; sons, Jay Perry and his wife Tammi of Bennington, Tony Perry of Oklahoma City, and David Perry Jr. and his wife Maria of Norman; a daughter Cheryl Perry of McAlester; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services to celebrate Sarah’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 5, at Jackson Cemetery located southeast of Bennington. Bro. Darel Bunch will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jay Perry, Jason Hamil, Trent Perry Jr., Paul Jones, Ryan Perry, and David Minyard.
