Dianna Sue Gilbert, a resident of Bennington, Oklahoma, left this life in Durant, Oklahoma on December 14th, 2018 at the age of 73. Dianna was born on November 24th, 1945 to Watson and Elsie Lenora (Parker) Burden in Altus, Oklahoma. She was married to Kenneth Gilbert who preceded her in death on February 7th, 2003.
Dianna loved to use her hands sewing and cooking. She enjoyed looking for treasures at yard sales, and watching her favorite shows, The Price is Right and the nightly news. Dianna liked to occasionally gamble at the Casino, deer hunting and four wheeling with her family. She loved her family and they lovingly referred to her as a “grumpy grandma.”
Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her son, Don Gilbert and his wife Misty of Bennington, Oklahoma; daughter, Pam Cox and her husband Tom of Collinsville, Texas; sisters, Lavon Shannon of Gainesville, Texas and Linda Bailey of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Karla Johnston and husband Cameron of Collinsville, Texas, Pamela Gilbert of Bennington, Oklahoma, T.L. Cox and wife Melissa of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Kenneth Gilbert of Bennington, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Gavin Cox, Abigail Johnston, Gracie Johnston, Landon Cox and Hudson Cox; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Gilbert; sister, Elizabeth Shannon and Cinda Valasques; brothers, Bill Burden and Andrew Burden; and son, Jack Gilbert.
Family hour will be from 6-8:00 PM on Sunday December 16th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Monday December 17th at the Jackson Cemetery in Bennington, Oklahoma with Bro. Charles Williams officiating. Her pallbearers will be Ken Shannon, Tom Cox, Danny Vandenburg, Charles Shannon, T.L. Cox, and Cameron Johnston.
