Edgar Donavon "Don" Fogle, a longtime resident of Bennington, Oklahoma was born in Ivanhoe, Texas on April 22, 1925 to Fred Franklin and Leola Thompson Fogle. He passed from this life in Durant, Oklahoma on February 9, 2014 at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 18 days.

Mr. Fogle, in his early years, was a farmer/rancher and owned a gas station and auto repairshop in Bennington. He later became a millwright in the petroleum industry. His work in this industry took him to many different states but he was always grateful for the days he could return to his home near the Blue River.

Mr. Fogle spent many hours fishing this river with his son and their friends. Their catch on the river always ensured a family fish fry. Mr. Fogle enjoyed his family gathering together for a fish fry or BBQ and watching the grandchildren and great grandchildren play and make memories together.

After retirement, Don once again returned to his favorite pastime of farming. He planted and harvested a ten acre patch of vegetables and was known in the area as the "peddler". He truly enjoyed "peddling" as he called it, his vegetables from the back of his truck. Many summer days were spent sitting in Bokchito, selling his vegetables and visiting with others. Don continued to "peddle" his vegetables until about three years ago, when his health no longer allowed him to do so.

He married Adda Fay Harrelson on May 23, 1947 in Denison, Texas. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage sharing in each other's love of living a simple, fulfilling life in the country and traveling to other states when work required. They had four children, Lonnie Franklin Fogle, Janie Fogle Dobbs of Bennington, Donna Fogle Williams and E. A. "Alan" Fogle of Bennington; five grandchildren, Kimberly Stafford and husband Kyle of Calera, Brett Dobbs of Bennington, Christopher Fogle of Bennington, Chandra Shelby and husband Stephen of Paris, Texas and Wesley Fogle and wife Natalie of San Angelo, Texas; six great grandchildren, Miranda Reid and Emma Stafford of Calera, C.L. Fogle of San Angelo, Texas, Jalen Scott, Kyler Scott and Caleb Shelby of Paris, Texas.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Leola Fogle; wife, Adda Fay Fogle; sister, Fayetta Long, brothers, L. K. Fogle, Neal Fogle, Raymond Fogle; son Lonnie Fogle, daughter, Donna Williams; and infant grandson, Jonathan Keith Williams.

He is survived by daughter, Janie Dobbs and husband Jarvis of Bennington; son, Alan Fogle of Bennington; son-in-law, Keith Williams of Poteau, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donation be made to the Jackson Cemetery in Bennington, Oklahoma.

A funeral service in honor of Mr. Fogle's memory will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Charles Williams officiating, services will conclude at the Chapel.
