John David Driggers passed from this life on May 14th, 2018. He was born in Dallas, TX to the late JD Driggers and Flodie Merine Driggers on June 21st, 1954. He grew up in Dallas. He and his wife Paula Jo met when they were teenagers. They married less than two months later in May of 1973 and spent 45 loving years together. In 1993, they moved to Oklahoma.
John David was always a hard-working man. He was a machinist by trade and spent much of his life in machine shops. His real love though was his family. He loved spending time with his children and his grandchildren and welcomed his first great-grandson into the world in January 2018. He loved fishing and watching westerns and his stories. He could always be found sneaking into the kitchen to put more mustard in the potato salad or to aggravate Paula Jo. John David experienced a lot of life and a lot of love in 63 years.
He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Nora Marie, RL, Clement, Tony, and Patty Sue Driggers. He is survived by his wife, Paula Jo Driggers of Bokchito, OK, his daughter Wendy Pierce and her husband, Shawn Pierce of Durant OK, his son JD Driggers and his wife Lois Goodman of Bokchito, OK, grandchildren, Morgan Pierce and her husband Ian Hazel, Macey Blakley and her husband Kolton Blakley and their son Bo Blakley, Jackie Driggers, and Lucas Driggers, his sisters Omega Ruth Thiel of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Wanda Gaither of Tishomingo, OK.
Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Pastor Darel Bunch officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Cemetery with Shawn Pierce, Kolton Blakley, Ian Hazel, Michael Gaither, James D. Driggers, and Juan Garcia serving as pallbearers. Family will accept friends at the Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
