Jessie Davis, formally a resident of Bennington, Oklahoma, passed from this life in Mabank, Texas on Sunday May 14, 2017 at the age of 87 years 10 months and 16 days. He was born on June 28, 1929 in Bennington, Oklahoma to Jim and Altha (Cates) Davis.

Jessie, enjoyed life to the fullest as a lifelong bachelor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and chasing women. He was Blessed by God to have come from a large family, and was loved by everyone who knew him, he never met a stranger. Jessie's heart was as vast as the sky and his eyes shined and danced like stars when he was surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed being teased and teasing his nieces and nephews. The family request that in lieu of flowers please make a donation to Jackson Cemetery c/o Carla Dancer 250 Shady Grove Bennington, Oklahoma 74723.

Mr. Davis is survived by his siblings, Margie Edwards of Foothill Ranch, California, Tommy Davis and wife Diane of Boonville, Mississippi, Mable Stewart of Ft. Worth, Texas, Frances Rice of Gun Barrell City, Texas, and Linda Vansickle and husband Harold Jay of Bennington, Oklahoma; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Altha Davis; siblings, Agnes Davis, Lillie Clark, Henry Davis, Mary Weaver, and Jimmie Sue Banks.

Family Hour will be from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. A graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday May 18, 2017 at the Jackson Cemetery in Bennington, Oklahoma. The family will serve as pallbearers.
