Jimmy Allen Daniels of Bennington, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in Denison, TX at the age of 75. He was born on April 12, 1944 in Bennington to Arvel Daniels and Jalasca Daniels- Sample.
Jimmy, better known as “Pop” has been a lifelong resident of Bryan County and attended Jackson Community School and graduated from Bennington High School. He met and married the love of his life, Maryland Ray in 1966. The couple spent over 53 wonderful years together. Jimmy was a hard worker who held many positions throughout his life some of which include; truck driver, rancher, hunting and fishing guide, and cook. He was a member of Bennington Young Farmers, Durant Elks Lodge, Ducks Unlimited, and the First Baptist Church in Bennington. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, grilling and smoking meats (especially his special jerky), and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Preceding him in death are his parents; stepfather, Lloyd Sample and nephew, Dylan Johnson.
Survivors include his loving wife Maryland of the home; children, James Daniels and wife Kecia, Julie Daniels and Jeff Adams, Jarrod Daniels and Michelle Cheney, Jenni Daniels and fiancé Robert Buchanan, Jodi Daniels, Jordan Ensey and husband Denny, grandchildren, Jaston Daniels, Jaren Daniels, Jerett Cobb Robison, Hallie Daniels and Megan Cheney; great grandchildren, Jackson Wood, Shooter Buchanan, and Willow Ensey; siblings, Jeanette Johnson, Patsy Sherefield, and Gerald Daniels; aunt and uncle Martha Vansickle and Otto Pamplin along with other extended family members and many dear friends.
Services to honor Jimmy’s life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Bennington with Pastor Jay Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Cemetery with Jaston Daniels, Jaren Daniels, Robert Buchanan, Denny Ensey, Cobb Robison, and Cheyenne Stanley serving as
pallbearers.
