Zelda Mae Kelley Bishop

Zelda Mae (Kelley) Bishop was born on April 5, 1940 in Chandler, Arizona to Clyde and Jannie (Williams) Kelley and passed from this life on April 30, 2017 at the age of 77.

One of 16 siblings, Zelda grew up as a child in Bennington and Bokchito and later married Bob Patton. They made their home in Bellingham, Washington were they were blessed with two children, Jaquita Ann and Donald. They were also blessed with 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Zelda later married Wally Bishop from Washington and after his passing, she moved back to Durant to be with family. She attended Live Oak Pentecostal Church in Durant.

Zelda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald W. Patton; sisters, Melba Sue Hawkins and Linda Fay Kelley and brothers, Galin and Clyde Kelley and Billy Hawkins.

Zelda is survived by her daughter, Jaquita Ann Patton; brothers and sisters, Leon Kelley and wife Elaine; sisters, Zora Bell and Betty Williamson and husband Tex, Clinton Hawkins and wife Sharleen and Stephen Hawkins and wife Linda, Jaynell Rodkey and husband Larry, Jannie Zachry and husband Ronnie Franklin, Virgil Kelley and wife Linda, Charles Kelley and wife Kathy and Bobby Kelley and wife Margaret.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 4, 2017 Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Lawrence Buller will officiate. Interment will follow in Jackson Cemetery with JoEllen Cote, Bruce Knipe, Charles Kelley, Leon Kelley, Virgil Kelley and Bobby Kelley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, Durant.
