Sandra Jean Watts passed away peacefully on August 28, 2020 among her friends and caregivers at Featherstone Retirement Center in Durant, Oklahoma. After a debilitating 3-year battle with leukemia, she has gone to her eternal home in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sandra was born November 5, 1952 in Durant, Oklahoma where she lived the last 40 years of her life. She graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1971. Sandy attended Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee; Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and graduated from Southeastern State University in Durant, Oklahoma. Sandy worked as a home-care assistant for a number of years, as well as a cook in a nursing home and in the cafeteria at Southeastern State University.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Betty Wells.
She is survived by her son, Jack Nathan Watts of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jackson and Presley; brothers, Steven Wells and wife Martha, of Katy, Texas; David Wells and wife Peggy of Owasso, Oklahoma and many extended family members and friends.
The funeral service for Sandy will be held September 5, 2020 at Brown’s Funeral Services, 4900 W Hwy 70 in Durant, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by the service at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma following the service.
