Linda Kaye Tomlinson, age 79, passed away on September 20, 2024. Linda was born on September 20, 1945, in Spokane, Washington to Charles Farmer and Mildred Farmer (Davis). She was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord.
Linda attended Fullerton High School and Cal State Fullerton. Linda married Jerry Lee Tomlinson on June 26, 1965, in Fullerton, California. In April of 1977, Linda and Jerry moved to the Bryan County area from Odessa, Texas. Linda and Jerry share four beautiful children together and being a mother was the highlight of her life.
Linda was first a mom. Her life centered on her children and grandchildren. She loved everything about motherhood and being a wife. Linda always made her home welcoming and comfortable for all who entered. Linda enjoyed her home keeping along with her houseplants and outdoor planting and gardening. Linda was also a great seamstress. She could do everything from repairing kids and grandkids uniforms and clothes, to making wedding dresses, prom dresses, and even a sports jacket for Jerry.
Linda's career was also a special time for her. From being a bookkeeper for their small business, to hospital office work, to retiring as Chief Purchasing Officer at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She touched many lives during her career with her pleasant personality. Linda's passion was being involved with her family. She enjoyed supporting her family in everything they were involved in. She showed her support for her own kids and for the grandkids. She enjoyed taking or picking up the kids from school, attending every school program, graduations, and all their academic and sports activities. This included all sports such as t-ball, football, basketball, track, soccer, softball, and baseball. She enjoyed watching her family play all these sports, but soccer may have been her favorite. Linda made every birthday and holiday at her home special. Family and friends always remembered and cherished the love and laughter from Linda on these occasions. Her home was a welcoming home, where everyone felt comfortable and at home with her and her unconditional love.
