Lena Mae Stratton a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, left this life in Madill, Oklahoma on Monday November 14, 2016 at the age of 99. She was born October 25, 1917 in Roff, Oklahoma to Jasper Collins and Bertha Mae (Moore) VanCleve. Lena married Clifford Clarence Stratton in Lone Oak, Texas on December 6, 1941.
Lena was a member of the Brown Baptist Church. She worked for North American Aviation in Dallas, Texas during WWII. Lena enjoyed sewing for her family, working in her garden, and in the fields. She especially enjoyed going around town to businesses, and schools, selling her fresh baked homemade cookies and breads.
Mrs. Stratton is survived by her son, Chris Stratton of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Leona Spampinato and husband Mark of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Royce Stratton and wife Barbara of Blanchard, Oklahoma; daughter, Joyce Weber and husband Gary of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Nathanael Weber of Norman, Oklahoma, Danielle Lauderdale of Yukon, Oklahoma, Christin Davidson of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Mark Spampinato, Jr. of Durant, Oklahoma, Kelly Stratton of Edmond, Oklahoma, Bryan Stratton of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Lindsey Keeley of California; great-grandchildren, Emmy Claire Keeley, Drew Lauderdale, Emma Lauderdale, Kyla Davidson, Brayden Weber, Ashton Weber, Trenton Weber, Preston Weber, Jackson Stratton, Elsie Stratton, Mabel Stratton, Bryan Stratton, Jr., and Katherine Stratton.
Mrs. Stratton was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Clarence Stratton (March 11, 1997); parents, Jasper and Bertha VanCleve; and son, Clifford Stratton, Jr. (July 4, 1949).
Family hour will be from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 18th at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A chapel service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 19th at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel with Bro. Tim Bowen officiating. Pallbearers will be her beloved grandsons. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery.
