Keith Brantley Story, age 67, of Durant, Oklahoma went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Keith was born in Durant to Bob and Frankie Story, where he was a proud lifelong resident. He graduated from Durant High School in 1976 and went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of the Delta Chi Delta fraternity. Those years meant a lot to him, not only creating friendships, but a brotherhood he formed there remained with him throughout his life.
Keith dedicated his working life for the cable company in Durant, what was originally Clear-Vue TV Inc, owned by the Story family, and is now Vyve Broadband. He took pride in and built over many years of hard work and reliability. He was known for being dependable and steady in all he did, qualities that carried through both his career and his personal life.
Outside of work, Keith found joy in the simple things that meant the most to him. He loved fishing and teaching his kids and grandkids all his knowledge from "whopper ploppers" to the "zara spook" (his favorite lure). He was an Eagle Scout Troop 618 in Durant where he learned to make his famous, "Hobo Stew". He was also a loyal Oklahoma Sooners football fan, always cheering them on with pride and passion.
Keith had a deep love for music. He was always air drumming or banging on anything in sight, not to mention singing or texting his kids music lyrics any chance he could. He valued the time he spent with his old bandmates, where laughter came easy and the music always brought everyone back together, no matter how much time had passed.
He was known for his strong connection to home and the people in it. Durant wasn't just where he lived- it was part of who he was. Keith appreciated familiar faces, good stories, and the comfort of lifelong friendships. Those who knew him best will remember his easy presence, his love of reminiscing about the past, and how he always showed up for the people he cared about.
Keith was a devoted husband to his wife, Stacey, who was also his best friend. He was also a loving father to his children, Bradley, Eric, Julie, Courtney, and Tyler. He took great pride in his role as a father and a grandfather. His family was his world and brought immense joy and light into his life. He would do anything and everything he could to make sure they all had whatever they needed no matter how big or small.
Keith is survived by his wife, Stacey; his children Bradley Story and wife Kayla, Eric Story and wife Avi, Julie Lillibridge and husband Dillon, Courtney Reirdon, and Tyler Reirdon; his grandchildren Alexis and Addalee Story, Edward, Ethan, and Addison Story, Ainslee, Gunner, and Colter Lillibridge, and Colten Valgren; his father Bob Story; his brother Bobby Story and wife Melissa and his sister Lisa Story Thomas, along with extended family and many lifelong friends who will carry his memory forward.
